Nigerian cybersecurity startup Aeon raises $1 million, led by Terra Industries
Aeon will spend the pre-seed on product and on turning pilots into paid deployments. Terra, which just closed its own $52 million seed, wants a joint venture that pairs physical security with cyber defence.

Aeon, a Nigerian cybersecurity startup, has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding led by Terra Industries. Resilience 17, Kaleo, DFS Labs, Ajim Capital, and Seedstars also joined the round.
The company says the money goes to product work, business development, and converting pilots into commercial contracts. Aeon and Terra plan a joint venture for selected corporate and government jobs: Terra on physical security, Aeon on the network.
Terra closed a $52 million seed round in August. It has also described contracts that include 20 Sentry towers and four Iroko drones at lithium sites in Nigeria, and a $1 million contract with Anka Metals for security at the Jema’a Resource Project in Kaduna.
Cybersecurity spending in West Africa still trails the rate at which banks, mines, and government offices have moved online. Aeon’s round is small beside those balance sheets. The interesting part is the pairing: a physical-security company buying into a cyber company, instead of treating the two as separate trades.
